About Adaptalift Group


Founded by Peter Whiffen & Margret Whiffen in 1982, Adaptalift started as Forklift Engineering Australia. Peter Whiffen, a mechanical engineer by trade, started designing and manufacturing forklift attachments & bespoke lifting solutions. As demand grew for the rental of these attachments to be supplied with forklifts, Adaptalift Forklift Rentals & Sales was born.

Renamed to Adaptalift Group in 2016, the company has grown rapidly to become the largest Australian privately owned and operated forklift company.

With a comprehensive range of materials handling solutions, Adaptalift Group is now a leading provider of elevated work platforms, fleet management and telemetry, and has acquired some of the best known name brands in the industry.

The company has a fleet of over 10,500 units nationwide and a network of over 30 locations with head offices in VIC, NSW, QLD, WA, SA and TAS.

Hyster History


For more than 80 years, conquering the world's most demanding applications Hyster Company started as a manufacturer of lifting machines used in the rigorous logging industry of the United States’ Pacific Northwest.

The name originated from the call of the loggers who would shout “Hoist’er!” when a log was ready to be raised. A few years later the first forklift trucks were invented and the Hyster® brand quickly gained its reputation for rugged quality.

For over eight decades Hyster Company has continuously developed its product offering and service network to become the leading international player it is today. The time line below highlights some of the milestones along the way.
